Faith Like A Firefly
Have you ever seen a firefly? If you have, I’m sure that you know that their glow isn’t constant. Sometimes, their body shines yellowish green and, sometimes, there is no light at all.
Now, I have a question for you: when it isn’t glowing, is the firefly still there? The answer to that question is obviously yes.
That firefly always has the potential to shine, but that doesn’t mean they always do. When it is evening and getting dark, unless they are glowing, you would hardly see them, if they were seen at all.
This is much like our faith. We have the Holy Spirit within us, a light that will never go out, but sometimes, we try to hide.
It is so much easier to be in the dark, where no one picks on you because no one sees you. However, Matthew 5:16 conveys a different story.
‘In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.’
We have to do the hard things. We have to let our light shine. We have to sing His name into the night of this world.
So, in closing, I ask you: will you have faith like an ever glowing firefly?
Thank you for posting this, I loved doing a swap with you!
I love this idea! Thank you, Molly!
